Gearing Up for Book 3

Feels great to have two books done! I took a short break and worked on my pen and ink skills, and in doing so, produced a children’s book called “A Bunny’s Sojourn”! This book will also serve as an excellent adult coloring book… moms or grandmothers can finish the illustrations with colored pencils, and then share the story with little ones. It is temporarily on the catalog page of HecockGraphicNovel, until I can rebuild my main art site, www.LGMiller.com. The story and drawings were created from my observations and photos of a baby rabbit that lived in my faerie garden for a month last year. If you want a signed copy, and you live in the USA, order through the website. But as of next week, it should also be available at any online book store, in Canada, UK, and other countries. Here is the cover and a few pages.

Now, back to Hecock, More That Meets the Eye.

Book 2 Update and What’s New on the Blog?

Good Sunday to all! This is what it looks like around my place: (this is a page from book 2) img0026

Jinx the Junket, Book 2 is now all packaged up in neat little envelopes, ready to ship on Monday. I missed my special date of January 22, but no mind, the 24th is as good as any! Boy, did we get slammed with snow yesterday!

Take a look around the site… I’ve added Book 2 to the store on Books and Goods, and on the Taradiddle page, you’ll find three new downloads! They are the cutest little ink drawings, even if I do say so myself, and would be wonderful coloring pages for children or adults!  Feel free to download and print for your enjoyment.

Keep warm, folks!

Book 2 Approved

This morning I got the word that the books are printed and were shipped this a.m. As the old gospel song rings: Soon, yes very soon…

Here’s a little quirky thing no one knows about me, but now you do… I’m not superstitious, but I have a thing for numbers and dates. One little tendency is to finish important things on dates that are already meaningful to me. For example, I always try to finish a painting on someone’s birth date. That someone is usually one of my parents or children or grandchildren. There are times I choose a death date of someone I loved. Which brings me to the ship date for Book 2! The books should be here within a few days, and I will probably ship them on January 22, the 21st anniversary of my dad’s death (I like calling it his Feast day, but the Church reserves that title for canonized saints.)

Okay! Now you know I’m weird with no uncertainty. As promised, I’ll be sending my Kickstarter backers a little extra something with Book 2… Coloring pages! It’s all the rage for adults to color intricate ink drawings. I’ll be sharing the first three pages from a little book I’m putting together about a bunny that wandered into my fairy garden, based on a true event. (view a drawing in a previous post about Thistle: Oct. 11, 2015) If you did not get in on my Kickstarter campaign, but really like the bunny drawings, a few of the pages will be available for FREE download on the Taradiddle page.

Hecock, Book 2: Jinx the Junket will be for sale in my store on this site, soon, yes very soon!

God Bless.

Advent and Comixology

Today is the beginning of Advent, a time of anticipation and hope. May your Advent be full of blessings, ending with a glorious Christmas, the birthday of Christ.

As I work on Book 2 of Hecock, I look forward to the exciting day I ship eighty five books all over the world, to my Kickstarter Backers. The next step is to come up with new ways to put my books in the hands of more readers. While word-of-mouth is one of the most effective tools, (and I thank you sincerely for any promotion of “Hecock” books and blog, from you to your friends and relatives,) something more global is called for.

Therefore, I am exploring Comixology.com where they sell web comics that can be read on tablets, computers or even smart phones. The books must pass approval, and I’ll keep you posted. Take a look at my new company logo for Miller House Publishers, which is required by Comixology.

Web comics are a great alternative to printed comics if you 1. do not want to store books, and 2. want to spend less per book (print version is $9.99, web comic $2.99)

To find my books at Comixology, you will be able to search by Title, Publisher, or Creator, so please spread the word as soon as “Hecock” gets approved. Of course, all books will be available in print from this blog, or Amazon.com, Books-a-Million.com, BarnesandNoble.com, or TheBookLoft.com of Columbus, OH.

Looking forward to December and all its wonders!

New Character Poster

Matthewposterweb

Meet Mr. Matthew Turman, a talented young man who sings your special delivery message, and even adds some fancy footwork! Dig that crazy harp guitar! He will briefly entertain the Hecock’s in the upcoming Book 2, Autonomy. Next in the New Character Line-up… my dear sweet Uncle Franny. He will be engineering the Midnight train to Niagara in Book 3, Steamed, which I hope is released by February 2016.

Good news for fans that missed out on the Kickstarter campaign but would like a digital copy of the book… in my spare time, (spare time?? what’s that?) I’m formatting the book for Kindle to sell on Amazon.com and it will only cost 99¢, a real steal! Wouldn’t want you to think me a slawterpooch! (I’ll send a set of bookmarks to the first person to comment on this post with the correct meaning of that one!)
